Practical learning

All degree programmes at Kingston University give students the opportunity to practice what they learn inside the classroom. Your curriculum will ensure what you learn is truly relevant to the world of work. Depending on your chosen course, you may have the opportunity to develop a product, roleplay scenarios, experiment with simulators or collaborate with professionals in your field.

  • Kingston Entrepreneurs Society is a community of passionate, talented and creative minds who provide great networking opportunities and run workshops.
  • Get involved with student programme Enterprise! and find out how you can turn your business dreams into reality.
  • Kingston University receives regular visits from inspirational guest speakers who run multi-million pound businesses. Previous speakers include Levi Roots, who rose to fame after appearing on the BBC programme Dragons' Den, and YouTube millionaire Jamal Edwards.
  • Take part in the annual Bright Ideas competition, giving you the opportunity to develop an idea and win up to £1,000.

Gain work experience

At Kingston, you may have the opportunity to go on a sandwich year, or year in industry, where you complete a paid work placement in between years two and three of your undergraduate degree. As well as providing an opportunity to practice your skills, work experience is a great way to build industry links – many students even go on to work with their placement company after graduating.
