Before joining us in Kingston, there are five things you’ll need to do:
Most non-European Economic Area (EEA) nationals require a visa to study in the UK. Our Admissions Centre can advise you on this and issue the necessary documents, or you can find out if you need a UK visa on the UK Government website. You can also find more information on applying for a student visa in our pre-arrival guide.
You can find out all you need to know about your accommodation options on the Centre website. Once you confirm your place and requested accommodation at application stage, we are now processing bookings and will be in contact to help you book your accommodation. We currently have plenty of availability in our usual residences but we do advise you to secure your accommodation as soon as you can. All of our accommodation is available for use by students if they need to quarantine or self-isolate for 14 days.
If you are under 18 years of age at the start of your course, you are required to book your accommodation through Study Group.
You can also arrange your own private accommodation, but you will need to let us know where you are staying.
Make sure that you have secured your accommodation before arriving in the UK.
Your course will start on the first day of term as per your offer letter, or on your Centre website, and will start with Induction Week. The first day of teaching will begin the following week.
For students arriving from outside of the UK, current local government guidelines require a 14-day quarantine period for many countries. You can see a full list of exempt countries here. Alternatively, please see the What if I need to Quarantine? section below for more information.
If you have booked your accommodation via Study Group, we recommend you arrive at your accommodation the weekend before Induction Week. If you need to quarantine, it may be possible for you to arrive at your accommodation earlier than this date. More information on this will be available to you during the booking process.
Before term starts we’ll email you and ask you to complete an online form. You will need to fill in your travel information and your visa details.
It is essential all international students have the protection of personal insurance while studying in the UK. You can take out our StudyCare cover, or arrange your own.
In the meantime, keep up to date with life at the Centre:
